Ground Zero
You have breath in your lungs, is it really ground zero 🤔? There are things that I wish should, could, or would have happened up to this point in life. In this short journey, I have found that there are gonna be ups and downs. It is what I do with downs that allow me to confidently bask in the ups. Don’t get me wrong, I get sad, frustrated, impatient but then I hear Miley Cyrus in my head singing “It’s the cliiiiimmmmbbbb”. Think about it. Right after the sigh of relief the question of ‘what's next?’ pops up. Nothing truly satisfies, so we end up at ‘ground zero'.
I recall watching a video on “women of impact”. Dr. Sabrina Kay was on the show. She talked about the difficulties she faced, and what it took to get out of those circumstances. She spoke fervently about her hunger for justice. You see, Ego saved her life [see photo for an explanation of what ‘Ego’ is]. It was desperation she used as a trigger to empower her through the valley and up the mountain. Dr. Sabrina was no longer responsible for herself, but she was responsible for others; her child and parents.
Her tale is not all bleak. She had friends around that reminded her of the light in dark times. Also mentors that were able to see her blind spots, and supported her pass it.
You see, ‘ground zero’ isn't just a place to wallow and become complacent in. This is an opportunity for you and I to reevaluate our strategies. Choices that led us to decisions cultivated who we are today. Is it not beautiful that decisions can shift the trajectory of our lives?
So, I ask you, what is ground zero for you?
Write out 3 difficulties you face currently. Write down the decision that got you there. Write down what you commit to do moving forward to create a new outcome.
